Doctor by the Universidad de Burgos with the thesis Efectos de la incorporación de escorias de acería al diseño de mezclas bituminosas drenantes 2016. Supervised by Dr. Vanesa Ortega López.
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Ingeniera de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) from the University of Cantabria (2004) and PhD from the University of Burgos (2016). Between 2004 and 2018, she worked in civil engineering, participating in project design, technical assistance, and construction companies. Since 2012, she has been a professor and researcher at the University of Burgos, where she currently holds the position of Associate Professor. She has taught eight courses (in Spanish and English) across five degree programs and has supervised numerous Bachelor's and Master's theses, as well as internships. Her teaching has been awarded the highest rating (A) in the DOCENTIA program and has been presented in conferences and indexed journals. She has held several academic management roles, including Secretary of the Bachelor's Thesis Committee, member of the University Senate and Governing Council, and Department Secretary. As a member of the SUCONS (Sustainable Construction) research group, her work focuses on construction materials incorporating different types of waste. She has participated in ten competitive projects and is the author of 53 articles in JCR-indexed journals (40 in Q1), as well as numerous book chapters and conference papers. Her knowledge transfer activity includes patents, industry contracts, and extensive service as a reviewer for over 60 JCR journals and as an expert for Horizon Europe, the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), and other international bodies. Her impact indicators include over 1,900 citations in Scopus, an h-index of 28, and two research periods (sexenios) recognized by the CNEAI.
