The Research Group in Didactics of History and Social Sciences (DHISO) of the University of Burgos arose with the purpose of understanding the problems of practice in Social Science Didactics. In particular, its purpose is to contribute to the training of future teachers as reflective or intellectual practitioners committed to their own teaching practice. From a critical conception of the social function of the teaching of History and Social Sciences, and within the framework of education for a democratic, global and inclusive citizenship, DHISO directs its research interests towards the analysis of the practice of training of the future teachers of Social Sciences, the development of historical thinking skills, the formation of social thought, critical literacy in social studies, and the treatment of social problems or socially active issues, among others. Its research team is assigned to the area of Social Sciences Teaching, guarantee of scientific specialization of the Research Group.
