Doctor by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the thesis Las mujeres en la enseñanza de la historia y de las ciencias sociales estudio de caso en formación inicial de maestros y maestras de educación primaria 2017. Supervised by Dr. Joan Pagès Blanch.

PhD in Didactics of History and Social Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, PhD in Education from the University of Burgos, and PhD in History of America from the University of Extremadura. He has focused his research interests in the constructive processes of the Ibero-American cultural identity, in the analysis of the discursive mechanisms of cultural representations from the theoretical-methodological principles of historical anthropology, ethnohistory and the history of mentalities, in historical-critical pedagogy and in the inclusion of social problems in education. These lines of research have been the basis of his activity as a full time professor at the Universities of Granada, Extremadura and Burgos. The quality and dissemination of his research production are supported by numerous scientific publications, by his participation as guest lecturer in several European and American universities, and by his appointment by the Peruvian Embassy in Singapore as international Scientific Advisor and guest researcher for the social and educational dissemination of Peruvian identity, culture and history.
